About the Speaker: Erick Hermanson
We’re excited to have Erick Hermanson, Director of Head of the Lakes Youth For Christ, speaking at Deep Freeze this year! Erick is passionate, relatable, a little funny, and absolutely committed to helping students encounter Jesus in real and life-changing ways. He spends his days walking with teens across the Northland at Duluth East, Denfeld, Proctor, Northwestern, Harbor City, and even the Juvenile Detention Center, showing them what authentic faith looks like in real life.
At Deep Freeze, Erick will lead us through “STAY CLOSE” - a 4-session journey inviting students to return to Jesus, grow again, experience His healing, and go home bold. Erick’s teaching is simple, honest, and full of stories from real ministry moments, making the gospel feel both powerful and personal.
Get ready for a weekend where students feel seen, challenged, encouraged, and pointed straight back to the heart of God. This is a speaker your students will want to hear, and a message they’ll remember long after camp ends.

About the Speaker: John DuBall
I have been blessed to serve for over 20 years in the role of Youth & Family Pastor at Covenant churches in Fridley, Maple Grove, and Rochester, Minnesota. In 2009, I felt God’s call to plant a church at our local family YMCA in Rochester where we ministered to hundreds of children, youth, and their families in the community for over thirteen years. In 2023 I transitioned into my ministry of marriage and family consultant and life coach. It is also a joy to continue my work in mentoring, restorative justice, speaking, and encouraging other leaders in their God-given abilities! My hobbies include: hiking, fishing, kayaking, repairing motorcycles, and road trips with my family!
